Chapter and summary

Automatic source captions (verbatim recording; may contain recognition errors)

0:00 Set up camera views

Frame the plan and adjust openings for the view.

So, I have recently stopped doing any 3D modeling, and especially in conceptual phase, because I found a workflow that lets me create real-scale renders much faster and realistic. So, without further ado, let's jump straight into it. So, I'm right here inside Synapse. app. This is an architecture software, which is on the web. And even though today I'm going to show you a little bit more about the rendering capabilities, this has also all the capabilities it needs for drafting as well. Now, right here I have this villa project, and you can see that over here we have all of the assets that we need to drag and drop into the floor plan. We have the ability to draw walls in very high precision. We have doors, windows, and everything else. However, for me, in order to show you the rendering capabilities that it has, I am going to switch from drafting mode, which is what we have here, into polish mode. And inside polish mode, we have this tool, which is called the camera tool. And once I click this, I'm going to be able to place the camera inside the floor plan. I can click once on the starting point, and another time for the angle. And now you can see that it's already showing a preview of this exact area in 3D. And then I can also change the focal length, the height of the camera, etc., etc. Now, you can see in this instance, these windows, which are sliding windows, are not full height, so up to the floor. And I can change it quite easily by going here. In the draft mode, I can select windows, and I can change the fill to zero. And then right as I go back to polish mode, you can see that now it's changes the sill height as well. And all I need to do is also change the height of the window to 2.1 m, and then I'll go back to polish mode as well. And now you can see that the windows have the correct height. Now, another cool part is that if you go here at assets and if we go to living room, as you can see every single asset has this camera icon over here. However, if this is gray, it says that this will not particularly be detected in the 3D model, but the ones which are actually orange will be detected in the 3D model.

2:19 Prepare and render

Choose assets with camera representations and generate an image.

So, what I'm going to do is that I'm going to switch these armchairs for the ones that we have in the floor plan as of now. That way all of these will be shown in the 3D model. I'm also going to switch out the coffee table as well. And then I'll do the same with the sofa. And now if I go back to polish mode and I can just simply make a quick change, for example, for the camera height. You can see that now all of the assets are also placed in 3D and that's kind of all we need here. Because what I'm going to do is I'm going to select the camera. I'll turn off the preset to no style. I'll just paste a prompt which I already have ready. I'll click apply and now basically this is how we can go from a 2D floor plan and any change that we make here reflect on our 3D view.

3:05 Change materials

Segment the render and explore flooring, paint and furniture changes.

And in a few seconds, we'll see how we can take this into a real scale and realistic render right here. And the best part about it is that I'm just going to show you in a second how we can still keep full control over the generation even after it's done. So, now this is the output that was generated from that. And the good part is that even after the generation, we can still stay in full control of the overall design. And we can do that by clicking this segment tool [music] right here. And what it will do is that it will divide all of the elements as separate ones. That way we [music] can customize them to our own liking. For example, I can change the flooring automatically just by going to change flooring [music] and then I I use any of these presets here or I can upload my own one. In this instance, I'm going to upload this flooring right here. I can just click apply. And in a few seconds, we should have the concrete flooring changed to a herringbone flooring. This is what is so great about this because we see all these AI generations out there which are >> [music] >> 99% fictional or not based on any sort of floor plan or anything like that. And then you also have no control over anything that's been generated after that. And as you can see, this automatically changed the flooring to the exact reference that we had. Now, we can do that even with furniture. So, for example, I'm going to select the sofa here, and I can go ahead and replace element, and then I upload one of the sofas as a reference. I can just click replace element, and the same will happen in a few seconds with the

4:38 Make focused edits

Use manual selection and prompts to refine specific details.

sofas well. Now, another aspect which helps a lot is that we can also use like a lasso tool just like in Photoshop to isolate something manually. So, in this instance, I'm just going to draw something right here, and I will tell it to add a rug. And as you can see, now it also changed the sofa [music] to of the exact reference that I had. And now I can also show you the lasso tool which I was talking about. So, for example, I can do something [music] like this. I can close this off, and then I can edit with prompt. I can say add a rug which matches the aesthetics and mood of the rest of the room. And I can click apply, and this should definitely do it for the rug as well. We can also add some sort of abstract painting. We can tell it to add a floor lamp or anything that we'd like. So, there we have the rug as well. And I can just do like a general edit with prompt with add a floor lamp, an abstract painting on the wall, and a pendant light that match the aesthetic and the mood of the rest of the image. So, now for example, I don't like this hanging lamp, and I'm just going to replace it with something off the reference that I found online quite easily, and then we're going to have it there. And I can just click erase, and it will remove this element completely for us. [music] So, with that said, I'm going to continue to the rest of the rooms. I'm going to continue with the bedroom here. [music] So, I'm going to increase the field of view. I'm going to lower the angle a bit as well. And by the way, for all of these that we generate, we can easily boost resolution

6:10 Enhance and export

Improve image resolution and prepare the renders for sharing.

with one click to actually improve the pixelation and everything else inside of the image. And then over here, we also have the bedroom generated. I'm going to go ahead and add one more camera right here for the kitchen. So, now we have the boosted resolution for the living room as well. >> [music] >> We have the bedroom generated, too. And then we're also going to have the kitchen. In the meantime, I'm also going to show you how we can do the exterior renders as well, which work quite nicely. So, I'll just go ahead. I will place the camera right there. You can see that we have a preview of the exterior, too. I'll just move it a little bit backwards. I will paste this front right here. And in the meantime, you can see that we have the kitchen here as well, which I think came out absolutely lovely. So, we have our first set of the interior renders as well. While this gets generated, I can show you how we can export this after generation. So, you can use this [music] paper feature right here to put them inside the frame. And then once you have them inside the frame, you can just select the paper. You can click the plus icon inside the drafting mode, and then you can choose a PNG [music] to export. And then this will export as a PNG or a JPEG, depending on your preference. And this is exactly the output that you will get. And then we also have the exterior render right here. So, this is how we can create renders without having to 3D model, especially in the conceptual phase when you do not need as much details in terms of like the exact corners or even [music] the exact crown in the ceiling, etc. etc. And if you enjoyed this video and seen ups, seen ups has a lot more to offer. And if you actually want to see a full on video tutorial on how to use seen ups in your architecture workflows, you can go ahead and watch the video right here.
