# Move around the canvas

Pan, zoom, select drawing elements and find available commands without changing your drawing.

Hold **Space** and drag to pan, use zoom shortcuts to find your work, and open command search with **Cmd/Ctrl+K**.

## Pan and zoom

Hold **Space** and drag to move the view without moving drawing elements. Release **Space** to return to your tool.

Mouse-wheel behaviour depends on the navigation style: a wheel can pan or zoom. Trackpad scrolling pans, while a pinch or **Cmd/Ctrl**-modified scroll provides zoom. Use these shortcuts for precise zoom settings:

| Action                    | Shortcut    |
| ------------------------- | ----------- |
| Fit the drawing's content | **Shift+1** |
| Fit the current selection | **Shift+2** |
| Set zoom to 100%          | **Shift+0** |

With nothing selected, **Shift+2** falls back to fitting the content.

## Select shapes

Press **V** for **Select**. Click a shape to select it, use **Shift**-click to add or remove shapes, or drag on empty canvas to make a marquee selection.

Click empty canvas to clear the selection. Double-click a group to enter it so you can work on its contents; **Esc** steps back out of the active context.

## Find a tool or action

1. Press **Cmd+K** on Mac or **Ctrl+K** on Windows/Linux.
2. Type the name of an available tool or action, such as **Wall**, **Mirror** or **Generate a floorplan**.
3. Choose the matching result, or use the arrow keys and **Enter**.
4. Press **Esc** to leave command search when needed.

## Enter dimensions while drawing

After placing a drawing tool's first point, use the numeric fields in the tool panel. For a line, **L** sets length and **A** sets angle. ## What you'll see

The view moves and zooms while the drawing remains in place. Selecting an item exposes controls suited to that item; command search lists available matches for your query.

## Move an object instead of the view
