# Group shapes

Bind two or more shapes into a group so they select, move and transform as one.

**Shortcut:** Cmd/Ctrl+G

## Steps

1. Select two or more shapes on the canvas.
2. Press **Cmd/Ctrl+G**, or right-click the selection and choose **Group**.

## Ungroup

To break a group back into its separate shapes, select the group and press **Shift+Cmd/Ctrl+G**, or right-click it and choose **Ungroup**.

## Edit a shape inside a group

Double-click a group to step into it and edit one of its shapes directly. Press **Esc** to step back out to the group.

## What you'll see

The shapes become one selectable unit with a single bounding box. Click any member and the whole group selects, then moves and transforms together. Groups can be nested, so a group can hold other groups.
