# Browse and place assets

Find an asset with library search or categories, then drag it into your drawing or place it at the centre of the view.

Open **Assets**, find the item you need, and drag it onto the canvas or click its thumbnail to place it.

## Steps

1. Open **Assets** in the editor's left-side workspace.
2. Use search or the category controls to find an item.
3. Drag the thumbnail onto the canvas to choose its position, or click it to place at the centre of your current view.
4. Use [Move](/drafting/select-move-and-duplicate-shapes.md#move-a-shape-or-wall), [Rotate or Scale](/drafting/rotate-resize-and-modify-geometry.md) to adjust its placement and size.

## What you'll see

The asset appears at the drop point or view centre. Check its size and position against the surrounding drawing.

## Browse and search

Use category filters to narrow the grid, or type an item name in search.

Open the asset library and browse the available furniture.

## Check the camera badge

A camera badge marks an asset with a dedicated 3D representation. Choose these assets when preparing [camera views](/assets/assets-in-3d-from-a-camera.md).

## Troubleshooting

**An asset cannot be placed.** Check editing access and whether the thumbnail is disabled. Wait for the item to load before trying again.

**You want to change its appearance.** Select the placed asset and use the styling controls it supports. See [Restyle a placed asset](/assets/restyle-a-placed-asset.md).

**You need the asset in a camera view.** Check its camera badge and inspect the resulting view. A dedicated 3D representation is not supplied by every item.
