# Choose an AI tool

Choose an AI action by your starting material and the result you need: editable drawing, rendered image or image edit.

Start with the result you need: an editable drawing, a new interior image or a change to an existing image.

## Create an editable drawing

Generation explores a new layout; tracing interprets an existing one. Both need a review of geometry, dimensions and recognised elements.

## Create or improve an image

An image edit does not modify the editable floor plan behind it. Expansion changes the composition; resolution enhancement does not add more scene around the edges.

## Change a particular object or surface

Start with [Segment](/ai-and-automation/select-image-objects-with-segmentation.md), inspect the detected content, and choose its available action:

* [Change paint](/ai-and-automation/change-paint-in-an-image.md) or [apply wallpaper](/ai-and-automation/apply-wallpaper-in-an-image.md) on a paintable surface.
* [Change flooring](/ai-and-automation/change-flooring-in-an-image.md) on a detected floor.
* [Change material](/ai-and-automation/change-an-objects-material.md) on a supported object.
* [Replace an object](/ai-and-automation/replace-an-object-from-a-reference.md) using a reference image.
* [Erase or isolate an object](/ai-and-automation/erase-or-isolate-an-object.md).
* [Change artwork or a carpet pattern](/ai-and-automation/change-artwork-and-patterns.md).

Not every action is available for every detected category. Inspect the highlight before starting an edit.
